If you’re anything like me, Egypt has always been a place of intense interest. I remember reading about King Tut and the pyramids as a kid. Those stories grab hold of you and never tend to leave. Because of the mystery and history of the region, for years, it was one of the world’s most popular destinations. However, over time, security became a concern, so people felt unsafe and travel and tourism to the region was heavily affected. However, as of 2019, Egypt’s travel and tourism became the fastest growing in North Africa. Egypt’s tourism numbers are second only to Ethiopia when considering the whole continent of Africa. The improved security infrastructure has helped to attract international visitors back to the region and has allowed many travel companies to restart operations in popular destinations.
In 2021, river cruising will hit the Nile River for an adventure that you will not soon forget. The Nile River flows for more than 4,000 miles through 11 countries including Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea, South Sudan, and Egypt before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. Adding more to the mystique of this river is than rather than running north to south as most rivers do, it runs south to north.
