Top 8 Things for Couples to Do in Jamaica

Jamaica is an exotic land with the contrast of gorgeous white sand beaches and turquoise waters with the lush greenery of the forests. She boasts rivers, cenotes, and waterfalls that will take your breath away. Jamaica is the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway!

People have very different ideas of the most romantic vacations, and Jamaica has such variety that most everyone can find a romantic venture here!

Top 8 Things for Couples to Do and See in Jamaica:

  1.  Rafting the Martha Brae is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Just you, your lover, and a guide on a 30-foot raft on the Rio Grande. You'll glide past gorgeous landscaped gardens on the three-mile ride. Your guide will gladly share some of the history and facts about the area if you so desire.

  2. Flashback to the 80s and remember the Brooke Shields' film, Blue Lagoon. That movie was based on the Blue Lagoon in Jamaica (and filmed there). The waters change from deep blue to green as the day progresses. And rumor has it that the waters there have a strong aphrodisiac effect at about 200 feet, so be sure to find out for yourselves!

  3. Explore the 700-foot Mystic Mountain together. The lush ecosystem provides spectacular views and a variety of things to see and do. Take the chairlift through the canopy and then visit Bobsled Jamaica for more exhilarating fun!

  4. Glistening Waters' Luminous Lagoon is one of Jamaica's most famous romantic locations. In the evening, you and your lover can take a swim and watch the waters around you light up as you move! It is a magical experience.

  5. Dunn River Falls is a place for honeymooners (even if you've been honeymooning for years ;). The rocks formation even looks like it might be a wedding cake! A guide will start a human chain so that you can enjoy the more remote and romantic spots of this national treasure!

  6. Find history a bit more up your alley than swimming spots? Check out the Green Grotto Caves. You'll see amazing caves and formations while being entertained with the historical stories of pirates and runaway slaves.

  7. Another place for history buffs to find some romantic spots is the Reggae Style Mayfield Falls. Gorgeously landscaped lawns with bamboo stairways will lead you into Rasta Village. A guide will lead you through the twists and turns of the river while sharing stories of Raggea River with you. Relax in mineral pools and natural jaccuzzis after your done walking. Finish off with the wonderful flavors of homemade meals and seasonal fruits of Jamaica.

  8. Visit Lover's Leap, a 1700 foot cliff that provides one of the most breathtaking views of Jamaica. Rumor has it that two young runaway slaves jumped to their demise from fear that they would be separated.
